I just got back from three weeks in Norway and omg was it magical. Mostly because I turned my phone off and didn’t check my email aka took my brain to the spa hehe. We visited the Lofoten Islands and witnessed the most beautiful sunset amongst these cute old fisherman cabins. We also saw Kygo! Who is Norwegian! So it was extra special. (any Kygo fans here?!). And of course we went on some epic hikes and saw epic views, my dream vacay!
Andrew and I celebrated 16 years together and 8 years of marriage this month. Our first cross-country road trip was back when you still made CDs. On track 8, Andrew put the song “Free” by the Zac Brown Band. When the song finished, I turned to him and said “this is gonna be our first dance song.” 8 years later it was. In many ways, The Adventure Tarot is OUR journey. It is the things we’ve seen. The tears we’ve cried. The magic we’ve experienced.
🍂 To help us all reconnect, I thought it’d be fun to pull a card for fall. Here it is!!
The Four of Pentacles
Essence: Letting Go
Releasing: Scarcity
Excerpt from Guidebook: It’s tragic. We can’t hold on to people and things and places and experiences forever. The Four of Pentacles speaks to the idea of impermanence, which IMO is one of the hardest lessons of human existence. Letting go can feel brutal, like a part of you is dying. Let the Four of Pentacles help you Marie Kondo the heck out of your life. Trust me. It may suck at first, but damn is it liberating.
INSPO: The Four of Pentacles is traditionally depicted as a man clinging onto a pentacle, symbolizing greed. I wasn’t super into this messaging because I feel like, if anything, women are taught to be overly generous. So instead of focusing on greed as a word of caution, I reimagined this card to be about learning to let go to whatever you might be holding onto too tightly.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Fall is a time of shedding old layers. What’s been preventing you from growing? Take some time to reflect on what you might need to let go of in order to make room for the new.
