People told me that I was asking for “too much.” But I did it anyway. And doubled my salary in a day.
People told me that I was putting my job and reputation at risk. But I did it anyway. And survived just fine.
People told me that what I was asking for had never been done before. But I did it anyway. And set a new precedent.
I even met with a career counselor once in my mid-20’s who told me not to expect (or ask for) more than $70k because I didn’t have an MBA. I sad F that and went on to negotiate a $105k base with a $5k signing bonus (for a job that I convinced the company to open for me).
I share all this to say I know what it’s like to be told that you aren’t capable of something – that you aren’t worthy of more – and to stand up for yourself anyways. I know it can feel scary but I promise you, it is so damn worth it.
If I had listened to the naysayers, I would have missed out on:
- A relocation reimbursement
- A lighter, faster laptop
- Work from home days
- A signing bonus
- Prestigious client accounts
- A boss I wanted to work for
- A job at my dream company
- And many tens of thousands of dollars
(I negotiated these things strategically, by the way, based on what I actually wanted – for example, one time I didn’t want the extra responsibility of a promotion but I wanted more money so I just pushed for a raise).
I would love to help you fight for more. To help you become your fiercest advocate. To help you believe with every cell in your body that you are worthy of everything you desire.

Don’t wait for the perfect time to do this work. It’s too important. Our relationship with money underlies so many of the beliefs we have about ourselves and sense of self-worth. When you feel empowered by money, you feel empowered. Period.
I can’t wait to support you.
