‘Tis the Season
💪🏽 I’m in a season of not backing down. 🏋🏾♀️ Or really, a season of setting boundaries, communicating them clearly and then holding. everyone. accountable, which seems to be the hard part. 💁🏻♀️
Turns out, it can be really hard to share what’s on our hearts, especially when it’s towards someone who is intimidating or in a position of authority, like a doctor or family member.
AND it turns out people have a hard time with feedback. 💣 But I’m not backing down. It’s important that I hold up a mirror. It’s important that I express when things aren’t ok.
Sometimes I can’t do that in the moment, sometimes I have to write a note later on when I’ve been able to collect my thoughts. 💌 That’s ok too. What’s important is that we find the strength – in our written or spoken word, in our actions, in our art, however we find it – to recognize and express what’s not okay for us. 🪄
So, I invite you as we head into this natural season of closure at the end of the year to reflect on what’s not working for you right now too. What have you been tolerating that you won’t put up with in 2023? 🔎
Where are you holding your tongue, bending your boundaries, or doing things you don’t want to? Enough’s enough. 2023 is the year where we don’t back down. And that starts by recognizing where we are. 💫🥂
Say it with me: I am ready to let go. ☀️
Just HAD to Share!
