Creativity Playground
Adulting is hard. Trauma sucks. And everything is way too serious.
The Creativity Playground is your permission slip to do something just for fun. I’ll kick us off! Here’s my creative expression for the month:
🌴🎶 Music, dance and finding joy is my focus this month, hence why, our Creativity Playground brings us a carefully curated playlist by your’s truly DJ Su—because why the hell not! I’ve been Shazaming songs all over Hawaii to create this fun Island Jams playlist for all of you. Think of it like a mixtape (remember those?!). From me to you.
I hope this brings you back into your body whenever you get stuck in your head or overwhelmed about our shit show of a world. There’s plenty of time to DO WORK. But for this month, let’s celebrate Earth Day by, well, CELEBRATING!
It’s Your Turn
Set your timer for 10 minutes and give this month’s creativity exercise a whirl! Share YOUR version of celebrating Earth Day this month, and use the hashtag: #mondayvibesmoments. Excited to see what you come up with!
Muse(s) of the Month
Each month we feature AAPI folx who are doing cool shit in the world and it is OUR FAVORITE THING EVER!
🌱 I love Mama Earth FIERCELY. I am so grateful for her medicine. I feel most whole, alive and grounded when in her presence. And as a way to be a better steward of the environment, I wanted to share eight eco-conscious brands we’ve teamed up with who are all doing their part to love on Mama Earth—some have also shared a special discount code just for the Monday Vibes Fam to use at checkout. Happy sustainable shopping!✨
🧋Spill the Boba
Last month, I got hit with the craziest food poisoning and was violently ill for days. I haven’t been that sick in like…ever? I was forced to slow down, to rest, and inside of my rest, I remembered the basics: Sleeping, drinking, feeding myself, nature, sunshine and fresh air. Inside of my rest, I came to a realization. An acceptance. An understanding of new boundaries I had to set. Inside of my rest, I realized: I am. Really. Fucking. Tired.
I’m guessing if I’m tired, y’all are tired, too. So instead of treating Earth Day this year as another day to shame ourselves for not doing enough—more composting! less meat! no plastic bags! WE MUST SAVE THIS PLANET. NOW. URGENTLY. YESTERDAY—I invite you to just use this time to get out in nature and appreciate the beauty around you. Lie on the grass. Feel your feet on the Earth. Go for a swim. A hike. Walk in the snow. Listen to the birds. Plant a garden. Watch the clouds. Smell the rain drops.
Repeat the mantra: There is enough time. I am doing enough.
Don’t forget your own sustainability on the path to creating a sustainable future,
XO,
Elizabeth
