Word of the Week: Community
I’ve had a hard time finding the right community, though not for lack of trying. I’ve joined women’s groups, book clubs, coworking spaces, business masterminds, healing workshops, yoga studios and even grad school. They’ve all fallen flat for one reason or another—usually because I don’t feel understood (something a lot of visionaries struggle with).
About a year ago, when I was feeling particularly down, I was complaining to my friend that I still felt lonely even though I’d been trying hard to find my people and she said, “Elizabeth, I think you are building it.”
“What do you mean?” I asked teary-eyed.
“Monday Vibes is a community. You haven’t found one yet—the right mix of business, spirituality and academia—because you are creating it.”
Whhhhat? That thought had never crossed my mind. I was just doing what I felt called to do without really seeing it for what it was.
That was a big turning point for me and the purpose behind Monday Vibes. Yes, we are a newsletter that empowers women and supports your personal growth journey. But we are also, and perhaps first and foremost, a community of badass women who are all pushing the boundaries on what we’ve been told about success and happiness.
To that end, I wanted to find a way for the community to get to know one another so I am SO excited to announce our monthly “Get To Know Your Community” issue that will be dedicated to spotlighting one of our Monday Vibes subscribers!
In these spotlights, one of your fellow Monday Vibes subscribers will answer some of my favorite slumber party questions and share her go-to self-care resources and inspo for you to enjoy!
This month, we’re featuring Monday Vibes subscriber and digital marketer Nathlie S. from Brooklyn, NY.

How you are currently spending your energy:
On contributing to the BLM movement by protesting, calling and emailing those in power; doing my day job in digital marketing, which I love, to the best of my ability given the pandemic; staying physically active by working out and mentally active within my church community.
Why do you love Monday Vibes:
The Monday Vibes newsletter reminds me that there is joy in every day—even Mondays. Especially now when there is so much going on, I appreciate that Elizabeth can translate a lot of complex emotions into this easy digestible email that ends with me smiling and dancing.
What is your fave self-care ritual:
Working out. I feel confident, powerful, refreshed and revitalized after I finish a hard workout.
What song are you currently jamming out to:
“I can” by Chronixx (Be sure to follow the Spotify playlist called “Jam it Out with Elizabeth” to stay up-to-date with the weekly jams 🎵)
How would your BFF describe you in emojis:
What is your gift to the Monday Vibes community:
“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:8-9 NLT
